As the annual kickoff to Memphis in May festival, Beale Street Music Festival showcases a mix of local, national, and international music acts over the course of three days.
Beale Street Music Festival wasn’t getting sufficient ticket sales through traditional media outlets. So the festival engaged the Southern Growth Studio for an interactive strategy and launch campaign that would move the needle back in the favor of this highly-acclaimed festival.
Southern Growth Studio used a vast array of social media outlets and an interactive content microsite that included a “Create Your Own Band Name” contest to promote the launch of the festival.
By using social media and other interactive media, Southern Growth Studio helped the festival reach potential attendees that would not have been reached through traditional media. And within less than a week, the festival’s awareness was extended and ticket sales began to steadily increase.
Located in downtown Memphis, this luxury hotel is known not only for its exceptional accommodations, but also for its daily “March of the Ducks” through the hotel lobby, and of course, its Thursday night rooftop parties that occur every summer.
Although the Peabody enjoys a high level of brand awareness, they were not alone in their sluggish, Thursday night “rooftop party” events. After seeing the success of the series, two other establishments gambled on Thursday nights also, creating competition for party-goer attendance.
Seeing declining party revenues and decreased Thursday night occupancy, the Peabody Hotel contacted Southern Growth Studio for a unique promotion strategy using modern media outlets to drive attendance back to the Peabody rooftop.
Using a comprehensive interactive strategy, Southern Growth Studio created a contest microsite, themes for each week, and various social media pages and groups to encourage Memphians and Mid-South partiers to attend the Peabody events with contest winners crowned weekly.
Over the Summer, the Peabody saw increased weekly attendance and revenue (sometimes as much as 500 percent attributed to this campaign), helping them recapture their position as the leader of Thursday night parties in Downtown Memphis.
